there is a poem from a childhood friend that always stuck with me. at night when I see the moon, or when I look at the sun directly in its eye, I sometimes still recall it. in this particular poem, it charts the unrequited love of the sun and the moon. oh, how the sun and the moon chase each other around the earth in the cosmos, never to really meet. how different but yet similar the two are, both with their varying lights and gravitational pulls on earth. the musical projects former selves and aloonaluna play out some similar scenario, as sun and moon, piecing together their own star-crossed variants of light and gravity. here on this split we have an intersection of sun and moon; the space where they meet. perhaps its those last few moments before the sun sneaks past the horizon, eyeing that graying moon.

beware, this one is a concept album. hans dens' style all around, his trademark disturbing lofi-foundsound-loops, but i have a feeling this one is a bit more conceptional as his many other works. in the beginning of each side of this massive tape there is no hope in sight, just darkness and confusion, but hans won't let the listener alone in a fragmented soundscape, instead he takes him by the hand and lead him to some kind of extatic light. once per side, unforgetable and life changing.

these two side long tracks were recorded in may and june of 2012 respectively and created in an improvised manner using a roland juno-106, loop pedal among other effects pedals.  the title 'sage' references cleansing properties of the white sage plant and its ability to clear energy of beings or objects by means of the smudging technique.  this allows the user to go through a process of inner rejuvenation, while moving forward, allowing them to perceive the outer world with a clean slate.

cosmic sounds for herbal healing. a must have in every little indian's first aid kit.
